Our Department

            The institution of Post Graduate Studies in Arts subjects came into being in the 50’s. Until 1938 the Department was a single man department. Hons. Teaching was introduced in 1947 and M.A. in 1950. From the very beginning Economics was taught at the present L.S. College and subsequently it was transferred to the new Social Science building.

            The introduction of Post Graduate study in 1950 makes and epoch in the History of the department. It is gratifying to note that Economics is guide a popular subject in M.A. The Department has a seminar which holds periodical meetings, for the reading of papers and for discussion. The meetings of the seminar have arranged much interest among students the seminar has a library of select books to cater to the needs of students and teachers.

            There have been so many distinguished teachers who served the department and the state of Bihar are specially worth of mention. the dedicated faculty is highly qualified and experienced, most of them guiding at the Post Graduate and doctoral levels as well.

            All present there are five faculty members who are doing their best to serve the Department.
