(University Department of Electronics)

We welcome you to the University Department of Electronic Science at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU), Muzaffarpur. Since establishment, our department has been dedicated to advancing the field of electronics science through innovative education and pioneering research. Our mission is to cultivate an environment where academic excellence, research innovation, and technological advancement are paramount. We are committed to providing our students with a comprehensive education that equips them with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the ever-evolving field of electronics. Together, we continue to push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation and make meaningful contributions to the world of electronics.

The Department saw its genesis in the year 1992. This course was a joint initiative of BRABU, UGC and & Dept. of Electronics, Govt. of India to train manpower in Electronics Science. It offers PG and PhD programs in Electronics. Initially, the department was under self-finance mode. But now, it is integrated in University system as regular department. The prominent areas of core specialization specialization that are ongoing in the department are, AI and Robotics, Nano electronics and Telecommunication. Recently, PhD in Solar Energy is introduced and Certificate course in Intellectual Property Rights is proposed. Project and Industrial Training is an integral part of the curriculum and are carried out in frontal areas of technology. Department has an annual intake of 35 students in Electronic Science. There are 7 faculties having background of IIT, DTU, DU, BhU and Maulana Azad Institute and exposure from USA, UK, Australia, Europe, Japan, S.Korea etc. Faculty members of the department have been regularly contributing towards International and National Journals of repute. Department lays greater emphasis on deep understanding of fundamental principles and state of art knowledge.

The Department has been playing a vital role in producing industry experts, scientists, and academicians of the highest calibre. The graduates of the department are occupying important positions in both government as well as corporate sector. The overall aim is to harbour a sustainable, and continuously evolving scientific, technological and educational environment which is both internationally-adapted and industry-relevant. The Department is gaining rapid momentum in terms of students’ achievements such as job placements, getting admission to higher education in Institutes of national importance in India and abroad. The Department is also well aware about the duties towards the society by conducting various workshops.

The Department regularly organizes seminars, workshops and training programs to keep pace with the new developments and recent trends in relevant technologies. Recently the department has organized invited lectures in mobile communication, digital firewall, Drone policy etc.  Apart from these activities the students are encouraged to organize and participate in various technical and social activities under the aegis of IEEE student branch and Robotics society. They are also encouraged to participate in various group learning and discussion activities in addition to presentation of research projects.

Vision
